Top Dog K9 Trainers Academy is a Government Approved Teaching Program that operates under the Victorian Domestic Animal legislation ensuring that graduates are recognized as qualified trainers under Regulation 49 of the Domestic Animals Regulations. The aim of the course is for graduates, under our approved training organisation, to be able to teach and assess all age dogs in a competent manner to a standard approved by the Minister for Agriculture in Victoria.

We are predominately positive reinforcement based using clicker training.
We have found that this type of training produces the best results for most pet owners and therefore we have based our basic training and instructor’s course around this form of training. We do also touch on other forms of training so that you are better able to appraise a dog and come up with a method that best suits that dogs needs and of course the needs of the owner.
This course is suitable for anyone wanting to become a Dog Trainer, Obedience Instructor, Puppy Pre-School Instructor, In-Home Dog Trainer, In-Home Behaviour Consultant or someone who is just wanting to understand dog training techniques and psychology so as to be able to train their own dog more effectively.
Classes are run in Melton on a Saturday morning at the All Paws Forward Training Centre, located at Willow's Historical Homestead, Reserve road, Melton
